Mobile Knowledge Welcomes Diamond Cab of Orlando
Selects XDS with DriveLinQ & TaxiLinQ to Drive Efficiency, Customer Service & Growth
Mobile Knowledge is pleased to welcome Diamond Cab Company & Diamond Ground Transportation, Inc., (formerly Diamond Transportation) of Orlando, Florida to the rapidly expanding XDS user community. Diamond was founded in 1998 with the goal of providing professional, courteous, safe and efficient transportation services to Central Florida, including Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. Since that time, the company’s fleet has grown to over 85 vehicles, including Taxi Sedans and Taxi Vans, Luxury Sedans, Limousines, SUV’s and Luxury Vans.
The Mobile Knowledge system selected by Diamond includes the latest eXpert Dispatch Software (XDS), DriveLinQ application, as well as the TaxiLinQ in-vehicle communications platform to deliver accurate and reliable GPS positions while powering and interconnecting all other in-vehicle equipment.
The Mobile Knowledge DriveLinQ solution is an exciting new offering that allows service providers to take maximum advantage of industry leading dispatch technology combined with 3G/4G wireless Smartphone and Tablet devices built upon the Android operating system. Diamond will leverage the HTC EVO View as its Android device of choice, coupled with the Mobile Knowledge TaxiLinQ communications hub to achieve a fully integrated in-vehicle solution incorporating Smart Taximeters, Printers, and Passenger facing Point-of-Sale device for credit/debit card transactions. For extra convenience, guests will be able to book reservations via SMS, Online or Smartphone and receive instant confirmations. Customers will also be able to track their vehicle once a trip is dispatched.
One of the most compelling features of the DriveLinQ application is its ability to leverage the Google Nav application integrated within the Android operating system to deliver both visual and spoken directions from the vehicle’s current GPS position, to the Pick-up or Destination address that is provided with the reservation. This allows drivers new to the city or experienced drivers unfamiliar with a particular area to improve on-time performance and safety.
Mr. Kingsley Blair, General Manager for Diamond, commented on the exhaustive research in the selection of Mobile Knowledge, “The main criteria in selecting a technology partner for this next phase of our corporate evolution included: a proven track record within the transportation industry, a progressive approach to leveraging new technologies, and a strong support infrastructure. Mobile Knowledge met all three criteria, and worked closely with us to define a system that would meet our needs. To complement our investment in this new technology, we are updating our fleet, installing a new state-of-the-art phone system and relocating our operations to a new facility.
Mr. Jas Kalsi, President of Diamond, commented “We were seeking a solution that would improve the efficiencies of our operations, while improving the overall quality of service we provide. With Orlando being a world class destination, we wanted to provide a superior travelling experience for our visitors and local residents.”
Kevin French, President of Mobile Knowledge, expressed his appreciation, “We are grateful for the confidence that Diamond Cab has placed in Mobile Knowledge, and look forward to establishing Diamond as a marquis account for the DriveLinQ solution. We are very encouraged at the growing base of clients in the State of Florida, and the adoption of Android tablet and smartphone devices for dispatch purposes that we are seeing across the board.”
Another main feature of DriveLinQ is the ability to update the application over-the-air as new features are made available. Examples of recent enhancements include on-screen driver distress annunciation, 2-way text based messaging between dispatch and drivers, as well as barcode scanning for paperless vouchers whereby a passenger can be emailed a QR code containing account identifiers and simply hold it in front of the camera integral to the Driver’s Android device for immediate approval and processing.
