Mobile Knowledge Expands UK Footprint
Delivers 9,000th TaxiLinQ Supporting Debit/Credit Card Payment in London
London, England, 09 February, 2017 – Mobile Knowledge Systems Inc., working in partnership with Creative Mobile Technologies UK Ltd. is pleased to announce the installation of its 8,000th Taxi Credit/Debit payment system in the United Kingdom.
Responding to the Transport for London (TFL) mandate requiring all Licensed Taxis operating in London to accept PIN-based based Credit/Debit card payment by 31 October, 2016, Mobile Knowledge has delivered more than 9,000 of its TaxiLinQ in-vehicle devices to date. Branded the CMT “Freedom” solution, the System, including this in-vehicle equipment and the Mobile Knowledge Arcus Dispatch and Driver Administration platform, allows drivers to receive daily payouts for their credit/debit card transactions direct to their own bank account.
The TaxiLinQ device, central to the System, interconnects the vehicle’s taximeter, printer, PIN pad and Driver terminal. The passenger facing point-of-sale device allows passengers to insert or tap their credit card and exit the vehicle with a printed receipt in less than a minute. Driver’s can access an on-line portal to view the status of payments and run reports from any web enabled device. The accompanying driver terminal includes advanced features that enable drivers to monitor the level of demand across the City, including wait times at major transportation hubs such as airports, railway and tube stations.
For the riding public, the solution is compatible with the popular ARRO app, allowing passengers to eHail or pair and pay from their iOS or Android smartphone.
