iCabbi North America Announcement
Mobile Knowledge officially consolidated with the iCabbi North American Sales & Operations team to become a single iCabbi North America team.
Dear Customer,
I’m delighted to bring you some exciting company news today.
On Friday, May 22nd, Mobile Knowledge was officially consolidated with the iCabbi North American Sales & Operations team to become a single iCabbi North America team. I am pleased to inform you that I have taken on the role of CEO of iCabbi North America, with the autonomy to direct a dedicated North American operation to support both iCabbi and Mobile Knowledge customers out of our existing premises in Ottawa, Canada.
As you know we were acquired by iCabbi back in December 2019, at which time an extensive scoping exercise was initiated to identify synergies between our two businesses with a view to proposing a strategic plan to leverage our strengths and fortify our position as the market leader in North America.
Over the months and with a great deal of analysis, the conclusion we have come to is very simple: Each company has something that the other company needs, and their respective strengths are truly complementary. Combining the current resources and experience of the iCabbi North American sales and implementation teams with Mobile Knowledge’s Support, Operation, and Hardware functions and their deep understanding and insights of the North American market makes for a very strong, balanced, and robust team.
Consolidating these two teams is, therefore, a win-win. iCabbi’s North American customers will benefit from a strong regional support structure, whilst you, our Mobile Knowledge customers, will benefit from a deep commitment to the American and Canadian taxi market and a greatly enhanced professional support structure across many departments. In time, you will also benefit from iCabbi product innovation. From a company perspective, the consolidated team benefits from operational efficiencies and knowledge-sharing.
We’ve made this decision to strengthen our position in the USA and Canada and to show our ongoing commitment to the market. No other taxi dispatch technology company has the depth and experience in a locally based team that we now have. We’re committed to and ambitious for, the future of the taxi industry here, and I hope that you share the same excitement that I and my team do about this positive move.
Product
The Mobile Knowledge system continues as a product line under the iCabbi North America banner. You will continue to receive the same high levels of support and our Mobile Knowledge R&D resources remain in place. Our intention is to enhance the Mobile Knowledge system with innovations developed for the iCabbi Platform. We are currently, for example, exploring integrations with iCabbi Voice – advanced IVR & Phone Systems, and the new iCabbi Passenger App is also being considered. Please be assured that there are no plans or desire to move our valued customers away from the Mobile Knowledge products and technologies that you know and love. Should you wish to explore moving across to the iCabbi platform, we will work with you and your team to plan a transition in a smooth and seamless manner.
Team
Our Mobile Knowledge team in Ottawa remains in place. Francine Barbe will transition from CFO/COO into the new role of M&A Advisor, where her knowledge and experience of our business and the industry as a whole will be invaluable to the successful consolidation of our North American business. I’d like to thank Francine for her work and commitment over what is almost 20 years with MK and look forward to seeing her thrive in her new role.
We will be joined by the iCabbi North American Sales and Operations team. Wayne Fogarty will become Director of Implementations, Andrew Morton becomes Director of Sales & Account Management, with Michael Robertshaw reporting into Wayne as Implementation & Training Manager. I am delighted to have their experience and energy on board and trust we will all benefit from cross-team collaboration and learning. From a corporate perspective, Darla Worsham will continue to be responsible for the group’s North American finance division. The Mobile Knowledge development team members will not undergo any changes and will continue to report locally to me in the new team in Kanata as they continue to support and enhance the Mobile Knowledge product line.
iCabbi North America will be supported by key departments in iCabbi HQ including Marketing, HR, R&D, Compliance, Support, and Finance. During an initial transition and settling period, iCabbi NA will continue to report to the Mobile Knowledge board of directors led by Bob Nixon and thereafter report directly to Gavan Walsh, CEO of iCabbi.
Please note that there are no immediate changes to your support, sales, or billing services with Mobile Knowledge. Any changes will be communicated with you in due course. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact either myself or your account representative.
I hope you and your family, along with your employees, drivers and customers, are well and keeping safe right now and wish you all a swift return to business as usual as the Coronavirus emergency lifts.
Regards,
Kevin French
